It was wonderful to present at The Australian Ceramics Association AGM on 8th October. I presented on the importance of building your online presence (now more than ever), common challenges artists face and how to tackle them, and tips for creative wellbeing.

I have just finished my free 2 week writing program for artists, craftspeople and makers. My impetus for this was to support makers, particularly those in Melbourne that are doing it very tough right now. The program was to be very relaxed, with no expectations, a way for makers to practice their writing and gain insight into their art. The program was open to all and we had makers from all over Australia and one from New Zealand. Each day about 30-35 people came online for a 30 minute call comprising of guided silent writing and then a short time for questions and reflections.

I am very pleased to be involved in this terrific project, EQUALITY CHAT, put together by my friend Tanja Woitasczyk. Equality Chat is a global conversation on social justice and equality to inspire new thoughts and behaviors, so that true equality can be a lived experience for all. It encompasses many art forms, with proceeds from sales going to organisations that work on equality-related issues.

I am thrilled to share the news that three of my works have been acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria. The three works, pictured below, are from my recent exhibition, ‘Layered’, with Kevin Boyd and Colin Hopkins, at Skepsi Gallery. It is a huge honour and I would like to thank Anna Maas of Skepsi Gallery and the generous philanthropist involved in making this happen. I hope I may be able to walk into the NGV one day and see the works, that would be a thrill.

I am very excited to be joining forces with Kevin Boyd and Colin Hopkins to run a workshop, to coincide with our upcoming exhibition LAYERED with Skepsi Gallery. Each of us will demonstrate and discuss our ideas, techniques and skills. The Landscape in Ceramics Exhibition opens at Manningham Art Gallery next week and to coincide I will be running a Landscape Vessels Wheel Throwing Workshop. We will be using the techniques of faceting, marbling and slip decoration to explore textures, impressions and mark making in response to the theme of the landscape.
